Arya Vaidya Sala - Overview

Arya Vaidya Sala was established in 1902. It is situated at Kottakkal in Malappuram district of the State of Kerala, India. Its founder, Vaidyaratnam P.S. Varier, is a visionary physician and philanthropist. The Arya Vaidya Sala has been around for more than a century. It offers authentic Ayurvedic treatments and therapies as well as classical Ayurvedic medicines. An example of Ayurvedic treatment that is offered is Panchakarma.  Its main market are patients all over India although it also caters to international clients.

 Arya Vaidya Sala started as a local village clinic. Today, AVS has grown into a multi-disciplinary and multi-unit charitable organization. It offers services in the different areas of Ayurvedic practice. Arya Vaidya Sala also manages Ayurvedic Hospitals. These hospitals are located in Kochi, Kottakkal, and Delhi. Classical Ayurvedic medicines and practices as well as medical advice are available in the said hospitals. The Ayurvedic Hospital and Research Center at Kottakkal is a 160-room facility with necessary amenities. AVS has over 900 authorized dealers of their Ayurvedic products.

 Arya Vaidya Sala has two medicine manufacturing units with quality control labs. AVS also initiates research activites and publishes Ayurvedic periodicals and books. The “Arya Vaidyan” is a medical journal that is published quarterly. The Research and Development Department of AVS is actively engaged in research studies aimed at improving and modernizing the production and quality of Ayurvedic medicines.
