About Velashape

What is Velashape?

Velashape is a non-invasive FDA-approved body contouring medical device. It combines massage, suction, infrared light and radiofrequency energy to reduce cellulite and shape the body by reducing inches on areas such as the abdomen, thighs, and buttocks. In just three treatment sessions VelaShape will enable you to achieve a toned and well-shaped body. However, the single treatment protocol is available. VelaShape delivers a high amount of intense heat and energy but you remain comfortable during the procedure.

The treatment sessions provide dramatic results without downtime. VelaShape treatments are usually performed in conjunction with other body contouring procedures such as tummy tuck and liposuction. Velashape treatments will leave you feeling and looking more youthful.

Which areas are treated with VelaShape?

VelaShape is typically used to treat cellulite areas such as:

  • Thighs
  • Arms
  • Neck (under the chin)
  • Buttocks
  • Abdomen
  • Flank

How do I know if VelaShape is for me?

VelaShape is generally used to reduce trouble areas that exercise and diet cannot reach. It is not used as a weight loss treatment and is ideal for people with a body mass index (BMI) which is below 30.

What technology does VelaShape use?

VelaShape uses combined technology which includes infrared light, vacuum and bi-polar radio frequency that result in deep heating of the fat cells, underlying collagen fibers and surrounding connective tissue.

Efficient vacuum technology manipulates the skin while bi-polar radio frequency (RF) and infrared light (IR) energies heat the fat cells and the surrounding connective tissue gently. The heating also stimulates the growth of new elastin and collagen which leads to reduced body volume, skin laxity and an overall improvement in skin texture and structure. Over the course of VelaShape treatment sessions, there is a noticeable reduction in cellulite in the treated areas.

What to expect during the procedure

VelaShape treatments are usually done in outpatient centers and do not require hospitalization. Depending on the treatment area(s) the treatment sessions can last for 20 minutes to 2 hours.

The technician will apply the VelaShape handpiece directly to the skin’s surface on the area to be treated. Mechanical rollers on the handpiece smooth out and massage the skin. They also direct the infrared radio frequencies into the skin. The radio frequencies cause the fat cells to melt and break up by warming the underlying tissue. The melted fat is naturally flushed out of the body.

The procedure feels like a warm deep tissue massage and results in the loss of inches and pounds soon after. It does not cause discomfort but a warm sensation is expected a few hours after the treatment session. The treatment area may appear pinkish after the treatment and this may last for a few hours.

How many VelaShape treatment sessions will I need?

It is recommended to have VelaShape procedures weekly for four to six weeks. Touch us should be done after every few months.
