Alexandra, who was diagnosed with scoliosis at the
age of 12, tells about the happy ending of the struggle she has been fighting

My name is Madelina Alexandra. I came from Russia.
I am 22 years old. When I was 12, I was diagnosed with Scoliosis and
conservative treatment was recommended. Then doctors in Russia told me they
couldn’t fix my scoliosis with a corset. I went to Germany in 2017. I had a
corset made there that took about 10 degrees. It helped with little success,
but eventually, the deformation got worse.
My scoliosis is so hard because until about three
years ago, it did not bother me, I had never suffered. Just a cosmetic
irregularity. But three years ago, everything changed. I started to have severe
pain. Half an hour of walking was a problem for me. Respiration is also lacking.
Overall, this is reflected in motor function and quality of life. Because the
pain really exists and can be quite severe.
