He has been head of the hematology and hemotherapy service at Hospital Universitario Quirónsalud Madrid since 2006.
Dr. Fernández is a pioneer and national leader in bone marrow transplant, and is the president of the National Transplant Commission, an a advisory body in hematopoietic transplantation for the Spanish Health Ministry.
