What is Dermabrasion?
Dermabrasion (or Dermaplaning), is an aesthetic procedure that uses abrasion, or scraping, to wear down the skin’s upper layers. Dermabrasion is carried out with special instruments to remove the surface of the skin.
The purpose of dermabrasion is to remove scars, fine lines and wrinkles and to smooth the skin as a new layer grows back.
Dermabrasion can be carried out on small areas of the face or the whole face.

How is Dermabrasion carried out?

  • The skin is frozen with a spray after being thoroughly cleansed.
  • The surgeon uses a small wire brush or rotating instrument to scrape away the upper layer of the skin.
