David was
diagnosed in his very young childhood with moderate form of Autism Spectrum
Disorder (ASD) and focal epilepsy.
At the
age of 10 months, he started to present typical symptoms such as delayed
language development, movement and learning
skills, as well as hyperactive,
impulsive, and inattentive behavior with severe sleeping problems. In addition,
the diagnose of focal epilepsy was given.
Although
receiving physiotherapy and ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) therapy on a daily
base, David showed almost no
improvements over the next two years; beside using
the words "Mom”, "Dad,", and "Ready”, he nearly showed no
correspondence
or social interactions with absence of visual contacts.
In
October 2020 with David being 3 years of age, we (parents) contacted CBC Health
and together with the whole team led by
head physician Dr. Nils Thoennissen we
set all the details to start near-term intravenous treatment with allogeneic,
ABO-matched umbilical cord blood.
Only a
few days after the well-tolerated treatment, David was
able to sleep for 10
hours without interruption. We were extremely excited and could not believe
this success. Within a year after the treatment, David has made significant
progress in his developmental skills:
he now is able to go to kindergarten, to
take
swimming lessons, and speech therapy is noticeably improving his language.
The cord
blood treatment helped David to be present, to have eye contact, and to observe
the things and people around him.
Being a
real success for our son David, we have every confidence to go for a second
treatment with CBC Health umbilical
cord blood to further boosting his
developmental skills.
“Thank
you from the bottom of our heart to the whole team at CBC Health led by head
physician Dr. Nils Thoennissen!”
