While working in some of UK's top medical institutions, witnessing the hardships of Liver transplant patients and their painstaking ordeal, spending huge amounts of money, Dr. Kancherla Ravindranath realized the urgent need for a Liver transplant facility in India.
Deeply touched by the plight of hundreds of patients' and inspired by his late Father's advice to come back to serve India, Dr. Ravindranath relinquished his very successful practice in UK and returned to India to establish Global Hospitals. A philanthropist at heart, Dr. Ravindranath has been involved in numerous social activities that has made him well-liked among the poor and respected among the rich. He has constructed a High School in Chiramana Village, Aspet Mandal of Nellore District, Andhra Pradesh, India and named it after his father Late Shri. Seshaiah Naidu. He was responsible for construction of a hospital for the poor. Dr. Ravindranath has also been a champion for the cause of Dalits and backward classes and has built a housing colony for the people of the community.

- Chairman & Managing Director, Global Hospitals Group, Surgical Gastroenterologist, Institute of Advanced Gastroenterology & Therapeutic Endoscopy, Global Hospitals Group.
- Head of Gastroenterology Department at Apollo Hospitals from 1990 to 1999.
- He was called upon to grace the position of the Founder-Member & Treasurer of Endoscopic & Laparoscopic Surgeons Association of Asia in Singapore, and thus became the first Indian to occupy the coveted position.
- He was also the Hon. Secretary of the Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endosurgeons from 1998 to 2000.
- Dr. Ravindranath was also the Vice President, Endoscopic & Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia from 2002 to 2004.
- He officiated as the President of Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endosurgeons from 2002 to 2004.
- He was also the Organizing Chairman of Asia Pacific Congress of Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia in 2007.
- He is a Trustee on the Board of Hyderabad Eye Institute, which is the operating trust of L.V. Prasad Eye Institute; the Director on the board of Rainbow Children's Hospital; the President of the Endoscopic & Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia, and the Trustee of the Indian at Association of Gastrointestinal Endosurgeons (IAGES).
