Dr. Rivera graduated from the Universidad Autónoma de Centro América and earned a degree in general surgery from the University of Costa Rica in 1997. He finished a doctorate program in medical science at the University of Salamanca in Spain. |

He has performed over 1500 laparoscopic procedures, and his credentials are recognized worldwide by: Fellow International College of Surgeons (FICS), Society American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), and Latin American Association of Endoscopic Surgeons (ALACE). He is also a founding member and an active participant in the Bariatric Surgeons of the Bariatric Center of Costa Rica. |
