Dr. Shahar's research interests are in oxidative stress in allergic diseases, treatment of chronic urticaria, pharmacological interactions between anti HIV drugs, metabolic complications of HIV infected patients, and salivary status of HIV infected patients. He has published over 20 papers and chapters in books in the field of allergic diseases and AIDS. Since 1993, Dr. Shahar has been a Senior Physician in the Department of Allergy, Clinical Immunology & AIDS at the Rambam Medical Center. He is also an Assistant Lecturer at The B. Rappaport Faculty of Medicine of the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa.
Dr. Shahar is a co-investigator for Israel in an NIH-Funded clinical study: Strategies for Management of Antiretroviral Therapy (SMART Study), 2005-2007. |
