Dr. Yona Yaniv, Senior Orthopedic Surgeon, specializes in Hand Surgery, is a Vice Head of the Hand Surgery Department at Sheba Medical Center. She graduated Sackler School of Medicine at TAU and completed her internship at the Sourasky Medical Center in Tel- Aviv. Dr. Yaniv has completed her specialization as a Hand Surgeon at the Sheba Medical Center on 2001 and proceeded to advanced studies in Wrist and Joint arthroscopy; and in Finger, Hand and Wrist Injuries. She also takes part in a joint project with the Neurological Rehabilitation Department, headed by Dr. Gabriel Zeilig.
The Hand Surgery Department at the Sheba Medical Center is the largest in Israel, treating a wide range of acquired diseases, inborn malformalities and traumatic injuries. As a part of the Department, exists the largest Micro Surgical Service in Israel, defined by the Ministry of Health as a National Unit. Moreover, the Department holds extensive operations in pathology of the elbow, the number of the elbow prosthetic implants is the highest in Israel. In the scope of the Department’s activities are nerve repair surgeries throughout the upper limb starting from the shoulder to the fingers and all other routine tasks related to surgery of the upper limb. |
