What is IPL Treatment?
IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatment is a non-invasive procedure that produces bursts of high-intensity light to treat problem areas on the skin. IPL treatment targets the dermis, the lower layer of skin, without harming the epidermis, the upper layer of skin.

What is IPL treatment used for?
IPL treatment can be used to remove or lessen age spots, facial lines and wrinkles, skin redness, flushing, spider veins, freckles, minor sun damage, varicose veins, birthmarks and unwanted hair.

How is IPL Treatment carried out?
  • Cold gel is applied to the skin, followed by the application of the IPL treatment device.
  • The treatment device delivers controlled bursts of high-intensity light to the skin to treat problem areas.

Who is a suitable candidate for IPL Treatment?
Most people are suitable candidates for IPL treatment but the procedure is not suitable for those with diabetes or bad wound healing ability.


Duration of procedure/surgery:
The IPL treatment session typically lasts 20 minutes.

Number of sessions required:
You will need to undergo a course of between 4 and 6 IPL sessions to gain maximum benefit from the procedure. IPL sessions are typically spread out every 3 to 6 weeks.

Anesthesia:
None. A topical anesthesia may be applied to the treatment area but anesthesia is not normally necessary.

Recovery:
There is no downtime with IPL treatment and you can return to work and normal activities immediately after treatment.
