Dr. Mariano de Prado, has been the person who introduced percutaneous surgery of the foot (minimally invasive surgery of the foot) in Europe, within the field of traumatology and orthopaedic surgery, disseminating it in Europe and Latin America thanks to hard work in teaching, research and healthcare, having published the first treaty for this surgery in Spanish and English, which has been used to establish the current basis for the development of these techniques and has brought over 500 specialists from all over the world to the unit to finish their training (our unit has been named the reference training centre for Europe by the American Academy of Outpatient Foot Surgery). |

Author of the books Cirugía Percutánea del Antepie [Percutaneous Surgery of the Forefoot (2003)] and Minimally Invasive Foot Surgery (2009). Author of several chapters in different treatises and books within the field of specialization, and many scientific articles in national and international journals.
He has received many awards and scientific commendations, including: - Fundación MAPFRE Award for the Development of Applied Orthopedic Surgery. - Research Award of the Royal Academy of Medicine and Surgery of Murcia. |
