The Yodak Cardio Thoracic Hospital is located in Shanghai, China and was established in 2008. Part of the Shenzhen Boai Group, the Yodak is the first private cardio-thoracic specialist hospital in China and is also a training center for cardio-thoracic medicine. The hospital is large, and has 400 beds.
The hospital is known for providing innovative and new treatments in the field of heart and lung medicine using modern and high quality cardiac equipment. Medical specialties at the hospital include cardiovascular internal medicine, cardiovascular surgery, thoracic surgery, respiration internal medicine, tumor medicine and associated techniques such as radiation therapy. Specialist surgical procedures include minimally invasive surgery, routine heart valve replacement, coronary bypass operations, and atrial and ventricular repair.

The hospital sees around 500 international patients every year, mostly coming from United States, Germany, Thailand and Korea.
The hospital offers a pick-up and drop-off service from the airport. There is an interdenominational prayer room for contemplation and worship and a prayer room for Muslim patients.
Hospital interpreters are provided for English-speaking patients and their families. The specially trained medical interpreters will interpret the conversations between medical staff and patient, in a culturally sensitive way. Patients are not permitted to use their family or friends as translators. Chinese and English are spoken, as are Russian, Korean and Japanese.
Rooms and Food Choices
All rooms at the Yodak Cardio Thoracic Hospital are single or double rooms. An accompanying guest can stay in the same room as the patient, depending on availability and subject to an extra charge. All the rooms have a private bathroom. Rooms include a TV, a fridge and air conditioning. The hospital also provides VIP rooms with internet access on request. There are four meals a day at the hospital: breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea/coffee and dinner. Meal choices are based on the dietary advice from the hospital’s team of registered dieticians. Vegetarian food is available and halal food is served from a nearby restaurant.
