||Kevin has a Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Denver and a Master's in Guidance and Counselling from University of Colorado at Denver Colorado, USA.
He has been working in substance abuse, mental health and social care settings in the United States since the mid 80's – gaining vast experience in dealing with dual-diagnosed people suffering from various psychiatric disorders as well as alcoholism and drug addiction. As a clinical social worker, Kevin has done extensive counselling with both adults and adolescents in residential as well as out-patient settings, making him highly experienced in individual counselling as well as in running therapy and aftercare groups. He has also been trained in family systems therapy, which he uses in counselling families and couples here at The Cabin.
Kevin has also trained in various styles of meditation and has been meditating for a number of years in his private life. He brings this training and experience to The Cabin's mindfulness-based programme – teaching clients ‘mindfulness' as a way to gain deep levels of insight and awareness to support their ongoing recovery once they leave primary treatment at The Cabin.
