About After his return to Israel he coordinated the program for prenatal diagnosis, introducing reproduction genetics counseling and invasive procedures like chorionic villus sampling (CVS) and fetal shunts.

In 1995 Dr. Drugan was appointed as Director of the Labor and Delivery unit and serves in this capacity to this day. In 2001, Dr. Drugan was appointed as senior lecturer at the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine of the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa.

Dr. Drugan has over 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals, more than 20 chapters in published books and has co-edited two books on genetics and prenatal diagnosis. Some of his works revolutionized concepts in reproduction genetics and were added by the ACMG to the suggested curriculum for board certification.

His main interests are prenatal genetic counseling and diagnosis of fetal malformations.
Education Arie Drugan received his MD from the Hebrew University Faculty of Medicine in Jerusalem in 1974. Following four years of service in the Medical Corps, IDF, he trained in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Rambam Medical Center. After board certification in Ob-Gyn in 1985, he trained in clinical and reproduction genetics at the Detroit Medical Center, where he also served as faculty from 1988 to 1991. In 1990 he received certification in medical genetics from the American College of Medical Genetics - ACMG and from the Israeli board.
