About Prof. Bentur's main research and clinical interests are in the fields of preschool asthma and cystic fibrosis. Most of her research involves new methods to evaluate airway reactivity in this age group utilizing computerized lung sounds analysis and spirometric evaluation of airway reactivity by an interactive, animated computer game, as well as lung function and genetics in cystic fibrosis.
Education Prof. Lea Bentur is a graduate (cum laude) of the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. She completed a residency (cum laude) in Pediatrics at Rambam Health Care Campus. Afterwards she completed a one year research fellowship in Immunology and Allergy and a two year clinical and research fellowship in Pediatric Pulmonology at the Hospital for Sick Children, University of Toronto, Canada. She went on to do a fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine at Rambam Health Care Campus.
Memberships Since 2001 she has been serving as Chairwoman of the Israel Association of Pediatric Pulmonology, and served as the Chairwoman of the Medical Advisory Board of the Israeli Cystic Fibrosis Foundation between 2000 and 2004.
