Microdermabrasion is a skin-rejuvenation technique that helps repair facial skin that was damaged from the sun and the effects of aging. The physician uses a device like a fine sandblaster to spray tiny crystals across the face, mixing gentle abrasion with suction to remove the dead, outer layer of skin.
Microdermabrasion is usally done on the face, neck, upper chest and arms.

Microdermabrasion may be effective in:
- revitalizing dull skin
- reducing wrinkles and acne scars
- reducing stretch marks
- reducing age spots
- reducing enlarged pores
- erasing fine lines
- treating mild pigment irregularities

As with other skin rejuvenation techniques, a few treatments are required for effective results.
