Hospital Punta Pacifica - overview
Hospital Punta Pacifica is a JCI accredited modern medical facility offering a comprehensive range of healthcare services to local and foreign patients alike. Of the 250 doctors, surgeons, consultants and physicians working at the hospital, most are trained in the United States and/or Europe, and many of them can speak English.
Hospital Punta Pacifica is the only hospital in Central America to be affiliates with Johns Hopkins Medicine International.
Among the surgical specialties the hospital offers are general surgery, plastic surgery, orthopaedic surgery and cardiovascular surgeries. Comprehensive laboratory services are available as well. Testing services available include CT and CAT scans, EKG, colonoscopies, endoscopies, angiographies, among others.

The hospital is equipped with a pharmacy, clinical laboratory, intelligent operating rooms, labor and birth rooms, recovery rooms and intensive care rooms. There are 74 patients’ rooms, including private rooms, suites and presidential suites. The hospital serves patients’ meals according to special diet and medical requirements, and also has a cafeteria which is open from 6am to 8am. A kosher menu is also available.
Services to foreign patients:
Hospital Punta Pacifica treats around 650 foreign patients each year, coming from United States, Canada, Spain, Colombia, Brazil and other countries.
The staff can communicate with the patients in English and Spanish. The hospital can provide information concerning visas, assist with transportation arrangements, and help with insurance coordination – the hospital has packages with international insurance companies.
The hospital’s convenient location in Panama City enables ease of access to restaurants and hotels. Hospital Punta Pacifica is only 15 minutes away from the Panama City international airport.
