Clinica UNIBE is a full-service private medical center. The clinic was opened in 2002 and is located in the capital of Costa Rica, San José. Clinica UNIBE provides outpatient medical care, cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, laparoscopy, arthroscopy, urology, orthopedics, gynecology, ophthalmology, general surgery and maxillofacial surgery among other procedures. There are 40 physicians working at the clinic.

There are surgery rooms, a laboratory, recovery rooms and a pharmacy on site.
Accreditation
The Clinica UNIBE was accredited by the AAAASF (American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Facilities) in 2009.
Services for international patients
Around 150 international patients, mainly from the United States and Canada, are treated at the clinic each year. Medical tourism packages include transportation by car in coordination with Hertz car rental, all relevant medical appointments, lab tests and surgeries, and a recovery room for observation. Staff and doctors at the Clinica UNIBE speak Spanish and English. Staff at the clinic can assist with bookings at local hotels and with transfers from hotels and airports. A personal guide or escort is available on request. There are no financing arrangements but insurance coordination is available. The medical center has liability insurance.
